If you're planning a holiday and checking in luggage, a smart tag is one of those gadgets you hope you'll never need but will be glad you packed. The UGreen Smart Tag quietly stayed attached to my suitcase throughout my Lisbon trip, giving me extra reassurance during multiple flights and airport transfers.
Planning my recent May trip to Lisbon was a bit stressful as it was more a work trip than for leisure (and it was last minute, we only have about 3 weeks notice). It has been more than three years since I last travelled overseas, and this time I was heading on my longest journey in years.
Unlike most of my previous trips which were mostly direct flights, this time the trip to Lisbon involved a stop over and connecting flights. This meant more airports, more baggage handling, and wit that, a little more uncertainty about whether my checked luggage would arrive at the same destination as I did.
While airlines successfully transport millions of bags every year, longer journeys with transit flights naturally involve more handling along the way... and that means the chances of lost luggage is higher as the luggage and flight might not be synchronized.
Thankfully as I was finalising my travel checklist, I happened to come across the UGreen Smart Tag on @mczstudio's Instagram and the timing couldn't have been better! The idea was wonderfully simple (and so much more cheaper than an Apple tag). All that needs to be sone is attach the tag to what you want to track, pair it with Apple's Find My network, and enjoy a little extra reassurance. It was perfect fit for the tip.
Additionally, I noticed it was available in a few colours... and there was pink! If you've been following MyGamingDiaries for a while, you'll probably know that I have a soft spot for pink gadgets, so choosing the pink version was an easy decision.
💗 My Quick Verdict
Did I end up needing to use it to recover lost luggage? Thankfully, no. But that's exactly why I consider it a worthwhile travel companion. Knowing I could quickly check where my luggage was throughout such a long journey gave me extra peace of mind before every flight, particularly while waiting at baggage claim, and during transit. Sometimes, the best travel gadgets are the ones you hope you'll never actually need.
Where I Bought Mine
I purchased my UGreen Smart Tag from the official UGREEN store on Shopee Singapore before my trip. It's also available from the official UGREEN store on Lazada, making it easy for shoppers across Singapore and many parts of Southeast Asia to purchase from platforms they're already familiar with. For readers outside the region, the tag is also available through UGREEN's official online store and selected international retailers.
The UGreen Smart tag typically retails for around S$16 to S$22 (approximately US$12 to US$17), depending on ongoing promotions, vouchers, and sales.
What Is the UGREEN Smart Tag?
The UGREEN Smart Tag is a compact Bluetooth tag that works with Apple's Find My network, allowing you to keep track of important belongings such as luggage, backpacks, handbags, keys, or even your camera bag. Before leaving for Lisbon, I simply paired it with my iPhone through the Find My app, attached it securely to the inner lining of my suitcase, and that was it. Setup took only a few minutes, making it one of the easiest travel gadgets I've ever added to my packing list.
Throughout my journey, it quietly stayed in the background doing exactly what it was designed to do. Although I thankfully never had to search for misplaced luggage, simply knowing I could check its last known location whenever I wanted gave me extra confidence during airport transfers and baggage collection.

🧳 Peace of Mind
Perfect for checked luggage, especially during longer journeys involving transit flights.
My Experience During My Lisbon Trip
The journey from Singapore to Lisbon was significantly longer than most of the trips I've taken in recent years. Having a connecting flight naturally meant my luggage would pass through multiple airports before reaching Portugal. Like many travellers, I found myself glancing towards the baggage carousel while secretly hoping my suitcase would appear among the first few bags. Thankfully, every single flight throughout the trip went smoothly, and I never experienced delayed or missing luggage.
Ironically, that's exactly why I came away appreciating the UGreen Smart Tag even more. It quietly gave me reassurance throughout the journey, and knowing that I had another way of checking on my luggage meant one less thing to worry about while travelling. Sometimes peace of mind is the best feature a travel gadget can offer.
