From the moment I pressed my first key, I knew this keyboard was something special. The Epomaker TH99 comes equipped with Epomaker Creamy Jade linear switches, known for their smooth, quiet operation. These switches are perfect for ASMR typing because they offer a satisfying, soft “thock” without being overly loud or harsh on the ears.

The keyboard is also designed with sound-dampening foams between the layers, which is a thoughtful feature that reduces unwanted pinging and echo. Combined with the pre-lubed stabilizers, every keystroke feels buttery smooth and sounds incredibly crisp, without the usual rattles you might hear on stock boards.

Compact Layout, Full Experience

Thanks to its 96% (1800) layout, the Epomaker TH99 includes all the essential keys: function row, number pad, and arrow cluster; in a tighter layout than a full sized keyboard. This makes it easier to position the keyboard closer to your mic (for ASMR fans and streamers), while still retaining that full-size typing feel.

Despite being mostly plastic in build, the keyboard feels solid in hand (at almost 2kg) and sits firmly on the desk. There’s very little flex, which adds to the clean, consistent sound profile when typing.

Keycaps That Click (Not Literally)

The double-shot PBT keycaps are not only durable and shine-resistant, they also produce a pleasant acoustic response when typing. Their slightly textured surface gives you that nice fingertip feedback without adding noise.

For me, this combination of feel and sound creates the perfect conditions for ASMR-style typing videos or just enjoying the rhythm of a quiet evening work session. The only little downside I had initially was getting used to space between the keys, they are a little further apart from each other than what I am used to. But was also easily resolve by changing the default keycaps which a cherry profile with MDA profile keycaps which have a wider surface area.

An ASMR Moment: Smooth, Soft, and Satisfying

When recording a short ASMR typing clip, I noticed how balanced and cohesive the sound profile was. Each key produced a gentle smooth thock. Considering that the case is plastic, there was no high-pitched pings or hollowness. It was almost meditative, like the keyboard was inviting me to slow down, type with intention, and listen.
