Some switches catch your eye because of their specs, while others catch your attention because they have personality. The Keygeek x Sharkeys Pomkin Switches did both for me.
I first came across them while scrolling through SharkeysTech’s Instagram, and I stopped mid-scroll. The name “Pomkin” along with the playful orange color, instantly stood out. It felt fun without trying too hard, and that alone made me curious enough to look closer. Once I did, the specifications sealed the deal.
This switch was a collaboration between Sharkeys, a well-known creator in the keyboard community, and Keygeek. It also marked Keygeek’s first full POM switch release. That combination of creator input and material choice made it feel like more than just another linear switch.
A Quick Look Back At The Launch
The Pomkin switches were first launched in early 2025, and they gained attention quickly within the custom keyboard community. Since it has been some time since their release, availability now depends heavily on retailer stock. These are not switches you will consistently see everywhere. At the time of writing this post, I noticed they are still available at the following stores:
What Makes The Pomkin Switches Stand Out
The Pomkin switches are linear switches with a full POM construction, meaning the top housing, bottom housing, and stem are all made from POM material. This is a big part of why they sound and feel the way they do.Some key highlights include:
- Smooth linear keystrokes with no tactile bump
- Full POM housing and stem for a deeper, fuller sound
- Factory lubed for a pleasant out-of-box experience
- Around 58 g actuation force and 63.5 g bottom out
- 5 pin design, compatible with most hot swap and solder boards
The Build: Record Alice V2 In Cream
For this build, I paired the Pomkin switches with my Record Alice V2 Kit in Cream. The Alice layout remains one of my favorite ergonomic layouts, and the V2 refinement makes it feel even more polished for everyday use.The cream case gives the board a soft, calming presence on the desk, which contrasts beautifully with the bright orange switches underneath.
To complete the look, I paired the build with cute bunny MOA profile keycaps. The rounded MOA profile adds to the gentle typing feel, and visually, the pastel tones balance the bold Pomkin color perfectly. The final result feels playful, cozy, and very much my style.
ASMR And Build Video Section
If you enjoy keyboard build videos or typing ASMR, this switch really shines both visually and acoustically. The Pomkin switches produce a warm, rounded sound that works beautifully for sound tests, slow typing clips, and build footage. Whether you are filming a full build or a short ASMR reel, they come across as satisfying without being overpowering.
Typing Experience And Sound Profile
Typing Feel
Typing on the Pomkin switches feels smooth and consistent. The factory lube does its job well, and each keystroke feels stable with minimal wobble. The weight feels balanced, offering just enough resistance without becoming tiring during longer sessions. They are especially enjoyable for writing, work, and casual gaming where a predictable linear feel matters.
Sound Profile
Sound wise, these lean toward a deep and warm profile. The full POM construction softens the bottom out, creating a gentle thock rather than a sharp or clacky sound. Paired with the Record Alice V2 and MOA profile keycaps, the sound stays controlled and pleasant, even during extended typing sessions.Final Thoughts
The Keygeek x Sharkeys Pomkin Switches are one of those switches that leave a lasting impression. From first spotting them on Instagram to building and typing with them, they have consistently felt thoughtful and fun. They may not be the newest release anymore, and they may not be available everywhere, but that almost makes them feel more special. If you enjoy switches with personality, smooth performance, and a sound profile that works beautifully for both daily use and content creation, these are absolutely worth experiencing.
