As this is the month about gifts and giving, and since sharing is caring, we will have one more artist for the month of December! So that means 2 artists will be features for December. 😆

Coming from Thailand, the first featured artist for the month is meedee.key! They started their journey on Instagram in 2022 and have been producing unique and adorable animal and food themed artisan keycaps made of resin.

They operate solely via Google forms and Raffle Sales, which if you are unfamiliar with is just a way of balloting for a chance to purchase the limited (quantity) adorable creations. Once selected, you would have to make the payment within the stipulated time or risk getting banned from the next sale.

There is the occasional fulfillment or group sales, where there is more quantity. And this was what got to me get my first artisan keycaps from meedee.key. They were having a group sale for some really adorable Rilakkuma themed keycaps at a special price.

The process was pretty straight forward, fill out the form with the necessary information and wait for the invoice. Payment is via PayPal and should be made within 24 hours, else you’d be banned from further sales. The order would take about 4-8 weeks to be shipped, so do take note of that.

Unlike other artists who only use PayPal just as a means of payment, meedee.key tries to make it easier by prioritizing the address on PayPal for shipping and had made that a mandatory field to complete before submitting the Google Form. If you have an address different from what is PayPal, you can enter that in the form but that field is not mandatory, so it is easily missed.

I know because in my excitement to complete and submit the form, there was a slight issue with my shipping address. Although my email to meedee.key didn't get any response, the response via Instagram was much faster and the shipping issue was resolved with the little adorable keycap making its way into my hands. 😍

What I appreciate about meedee.key is that although they are setting their pricing in US$, they actually make it a little more affordable for those in the country they reside in. For those in Thailand, the shipping fee is US$2 while for the rest of the world it is from US$15.

That said, I chose the design holding a Donut Pon De Ring, the packaging was so adorable (with the cards and stickers) and even came with a candy make it even more sweeter.

One thing to note is that meedee.key has decided to step away from creating keycaps, taking a hiatus to explore new passions. This "retirement" was influenced by the challenges of dealing with copycats, which made the journey increasingly exhausting. 😭 Despite this bittersweet news, I’m thrilled to have secured their final two designs during their farewell sale.
