A Little Pompompurin Refresh for My Switch Lite

It's been a while since I last updated the case for my Nintendo Switch Lite, and I wanted to get a new case and thumb grips for a while. I wanted something a little more cute and fun... at the price which was reasonable. 

So while browsing Shopee, I came across this  this Pompompurin case and matching thumb grips for under S$20~. Typically other listing have the same design for about S$25-40~, so this was definitely at steal at S$15!

If you are wondering what is Shopee , it’s basically a shopping platform like Amazon but with pricing closer to Temu. They have an app for Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia, mostly for the South East Asian countries. Besides the (probably) more affordable (cheaper) pricing, shipping is either free or less than SGD$2 (for majority of the sellers). The only downside is that you need a local number and address for each of the Shopee country app.

Finding the Right Balance Between Cute and Affordable

As mentioned earlier, I had seen quite a few Switch Lite cases and thumb grips while browsing. Some had designs I liked but felt too expensive for what they were. I wanted something that looked cute on the Switch Lite and did not cost enough to make me second guess the purchase.

This Pompompurin set happened to tick all three boxes.

The little detail that convinced me?
The case and thumb grips matched, so it felt more like a proper little refresh rather than just replacing one accessory.

The first thing that caught my attention was the colour, which is such a cheerful shade of yellow, fitting into that cosy playful look. The matching thumb grips were a bonus too (that cute little behind)!

A Small Change That Makes the Switch Lite Feel New Again

I think that is what I like most about such little gaming accessories: it does not have to be a major upgrade to make something you already own feel a little different.

The Switch Lite itself has not changed. I just gave it a new case, added some matching thumb grips and suddenly it feels like I have a slightly different console. And sometimes that is all you need for a little weekend refresh.
