Unboxing the Epomaker TH99: First Impressions and Review Recap

If you’ve read my Epomaker TH99 review post, you’ll already know that I’m intrigued with this compact yet functional 96% mechanical keyboard.

The Epomaker TH99 offers a near full-size layout in a streamlined 1800 compact size (when compared to a full sized keyboard). It's packed with enthusiast-grade features like hot-swappable switches, south-facing RGB lighting, and customization for remapping the keys. But before I even powered it on, I was already impressed by the thoughtful packaging and design.

It's been about a month of using the Epomaker TH99, and here are my thoughts on it so far. First things first, I did change out the keycaps to personalize it and make it cuter.

📦 What’s in the Box?

The unboxing experience feels indulgent right from the start. Inside the box, you’ll find:
  • The Epomaker TH99 keyboard (mine is the beautiful white-blue version!)
  • A USB-C cable
  • A keycap and switch puller
  • A clear dust cover to keep your keyboard protected when not in use
  • A manual

The  Epomaker TH99 comes with the Epomaker Creamy Jade linear switches, which offer a super smooth, creamy and thocky typing experience right out of the box.

The keyboard is securely packaged, and everything is neatly arranged. It even comes with a dust cover! Epomaker puts care not only into the product itself, but also into the experience of opening it.

💙 Sound Test

💙Love at First Sight

The moment I unwrapped the Epomaker TH99, I couldn’t stop admiring the soft pastel tones of the white-blue version. It’s elegant without being flashy, and the creamy jade switches complement the overall aesthetic perfectly.

It was also my first time using a 96% layout, and I was surprised by how compact it felt without sacrificing key functionality. You still get the number pad, arrow keys, and function row; all tucked into a sleek frame that saves precious desk space. If you're looking for a keyboard that feels as good as it sounds, this might just be your next mechanical keyboard to get.
